Walked... read more up the hill to offa’s dyke path in the evening and watched the big red moon rise. Had a lovely swim in the evening and in the next morning. Good breakfast and coffee. Lovely clean room with decking right outside. Beautiful countryside and very peaceful and quiet. Decent pub nearby with big back garden. Definitely recommend.

It was very spacious and had an amazing bathroom which had both a... read more bath and shower and was very clean and modern. We had an amazing welcome by Vivienne Adrian and they couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable. The use of the outdoor pool is also an amazing feature and we really enjoyed our breakfast. Would recommend.

A lovely hospitable place to rest and recuperate after a hot day's walking the Offa's Dyke Path. Guests even have access to the pool (so bring your swimming costumes!). Lying... read more on my bed I could enjoy fabulous early morning views of the sun rising up behind the hilltop.
The Royal Oak pub is only a stone's throw down the road and serves up a nice range of dinners, which can be enjoyed in its beautiful garden.
Gladestry is a very comfortable 10 and a bit miles walk from Hay. (Perhaps not quite so comfortable when doing it in the middle of a major heatwave... The generously sized bathroom and power shower with rain shower attachment was much appreciated after that.)
July 21, 2021We booked this trip last minute after our abroad holiday was cancelled, thinking it would be the “next best thing”, but it was honestly better than any holiday we could... read more have had abroad! Viv and her husband were so accommodating and welcoming and helped us blow up our pool inflatables (although there were plenty there already for us to use) and we were lucky enough to have the beautiful pool to ourselves for the 2 days we were there. The breakfast was outstanding and Viv went out of her way to accommodate for me being vegan. There was a fridge in the outhouse we could use and a 10 minute drive to the local co-op, so we had food both nights on the terrace outside our room, although there are local restaurants in Kington and Hay on Wye to choose from too. The room and en-suite were wonderful and we felt so lucky to have found this place in time for the heatwave! We will recommend this place to everyone and we will definitely be back.

A truely wonderful stay! Very welcoming hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. Very comfortable bedroom and fantastic bathroom. A smashing cooked breakfast in the morning and tea/coffee and biscuits... read more provided in the room. I would definitely stay again if around the area!
